DRESS CODE
Like it or not, “Dress Codes” exist.
We have school uniforms.
We have military uniforms.
There are workplace uniforms.
There are workplace requirements for “appropriate” attire to be worn.
Clubs such as Golf Clubs, dictate what members and participants can wear.
Some entertainment venues have dress standards as a condition of entry.
We have bans on the wearing of Motor Cycle Helmets in Banks and the like.
Why do we cringe when it comes to wearing the Burqua or similar clothing designed to defeat visual recognition, and possibly conceal items being carried.
Sure we have had Nuns, Priests and people wearing caftans, but we could still recognise them from facial features.
I personally feel uncomfortable and possibly intimidated in the vicinity of Burqua wearers.
Most Australians, I believe, do not condone the wearing of Burqua type garments.
I suspect that a lot of the wearers are under male domination , and prefer a more generally accepted mode of dress.
Perhaps we could make the wearing of acceptable clothing a condition of entry into Australia.
In a nutshell, if this is a rights issue ....
If you can freely chooses what to wear, then surely I would have the right to go naked in public!
