THE REFUGEE/ASYLUM SEEKER INDUSTRY - KEEP WHAT WORKS!

As a Tax Payer it peeved me greatly that so-called refugees and asylum seekers were being paid compensation for being "damaged" while in detention.

I find this to be disgraceful.

We talk about people smugglers, but what about those who profit from aiding and abetting those enticed to arrive. There appears to be a whole industry intent on draining the public purse by encouraging seekers to pursue in the courts residence status, welfare benefits, and damages.

Please end the funding of organisations and lawyers making a job out of so called refugees.

Legislate to prevent people arriving un-invited receiving welfare benefits and prohibit payment of compensation to detainees.

Send a message and make it clear that these benefits are no longer available to these people, and funding to lawyers and advocates is no longer available.

If the do-goodies want these people, then let them sponsor them and have them live in their houses.

I believe people should be allowed to immigrate to Australia only if they seek to be part of the broader community and accept our laws and way of life. They should not seek to come here to change our way of life or only be part of a closed community.

We can accept genuine refugees who want to be part of us ( eg as the Vietnamese have).

Economic refugees, those with other agendas or those who do not intend to accept our values and assimilate... I believe are not welcome by the tax paying majority.
