ANY TAX WILL DO !!!

The Rudd/Gillard regime has managed to, in my opinion, waste extraordinary amounts of money.

Not only have they spent moneys prudently accumulated under the Howard regime, but managed to borrow vast sums that are unlikely to be repaid in the near future.

It became painfully obvious prior to the 2010 Federal election, that spending cuts could not achieve that political target of getting the budget into surplus by 2012/2013.

The only way it could be done without admitting openly they had “stuffed up” would be to find an excuse to create a substantial tax that could be somehow be ripped off effectively into general revenue.

New or increased taxes it had to be!  Not for the benefit of the Nation per se, but in the hope it would save political skins.
