WHAT ACTUALLY IS THE NDIS . Who Gets What??

 I must be stupid !

Everything I read seems to be full of Motherhood Statements with little detail.

The productivity commissions mentions figures of the order of:

Disabled                     400,000

Early Intervention        80,000

With Limitations        350,000

The total population is currently estimated at 23 million. 830,00 is 3.6% of the total population, or 5.5% of the working population. What is going on ?

The increase in the Medicare Levy of 0.5%.

This supposedly raises over $3billion, yet commentry suggests this will only cover 40% of the estimated cost (ie $7.5billion).

$7.5billion divided by 400,00 is $18,750 per person.

$7.5billion divided by 830,00 is $9036 per person

Question is "who gets it and what is it for".

Obviously you cannot get a full time carer for $18,750 p.a.

So again, who gets what, and what is the real cost.

Who Pays

I understand that there are approximately 15 million income tax paying individuals.

$7.5 billion divided by 15 million taxpayers is $500 each.

Who knows what the real cost will end up at, and who will end up paying !

Ultimately when someone says "the government pays" in reality it is the taxpayers.
